Finally Galaxie, which has taken over Wagner's Drive-In, is here. It is clear that lots of money was spent to freshen up the place. However, in an effort to start earning back the investment, the place rushed to open. Kitchen and wait staff lack training and experience to service the eager crowd. On a weeknight, turnaround of a hamburger and hot dog is over one hour, much longer than acceptable for the clientele, many with small children. Bills are waived, gift certifcates promised, scribbling addresses to mail these to between lines on the new menus. The history of Wagner's still lives though, and the place deserves another chance later this summer.

Raw Chicken... Galaxy Drive In is the completely remodeled former Wagner's Drive In. The feel of the old Wagner's is completely gone. This may be good or bad depending on your point of view. I will let you be the judge of that. I have eaten there twice since they opened on 7/13/09. The first time was by myself at car service and the second time was with my 4 year old daughter at counter service. The burger and philly cheese steak I ate were good. The fries and cheese curds were tasty but definitely not hot enough. My daughter had the RAW chicken tenders. I definitely don't recommend these. (To be fair the one I tasted was cooked.) Hopefully her stomach will deal with the raw chicken that she ate before I noticed the problem. I promptly discussed the situation with a manager who refunded my money and offered my daughter an ice cream cone. Her explanation was that they had only been open a couple of days and were still working things out. This is a poor excuse for being served raw food. The new owner of the Galaxy Drive In has been in the restaurant business for years. He & his staff should know how to fry a chicken tender. They have actually been open for over a week serving to staff, friends and test groups but still haven't figured out how to cook a piece of chicken. I personally recommend waiting for them to get the kinks worked out.

I personally liked the Drive-In. It was a nice summer day and the place was packed as was all the parking on the street around it. When we pulled in a girl on skates took us to a "drive up" spot. We did wait a while which I thought was due to the amount of people. I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak and a Diet Cherry Coke. Matt ordered the root beer which was served in a glass mug - that didn't fit in the cupholders. A bit complicated for the Ford Focus and the lack of "table" space in the car. Eating was messy the food was very hott for the paper containers and was hard to hold. I ended up using a fork and knife for my meal. It did take a while for the check and the waitress seemed pretty uninterested in her job and customer service. She had no expression what -so-ever. Here is a funny tidbit - The Men's bathroom had a wierd self-locking device or an invisible alien in the bathroom - take your pick. Where our car was parked we could watch this happen each time. So when someone tried to use the bathroom it was locked (with no on in it) and they had to track down a manager or someone to re-open it. Very odd.

Food: Typical fried goodness that you will find at the State Fair, but nothing spectacular. Ambiance: Cool Drive-in atmosphere- Perfect for kids! (Minus- Winter) Overall Comments: Food is alright. I might take kids there if I were a parent just for the fun atmosphere.

I always saw this tiny shack with picnic tables and paintings of hot dogs whenever I drove on Highway 7 towards Super Target and wondered if it only sold hot dogs, which would have been awesome. But they had burgers, philly cheese steak sandwiches, and corn dogs and everything else delicious you associate with summer and state fair food. Much to my surprise it's one of those original drive ins where you can pull up your car and the waitress serves you your food on one of those trays that clips onto your car window. Much like the Sonic idea except good. This place also had picnic tables in case it's too fat assish to sit in your car in the sweltering heat while eating a chili cheese hot dog. I got a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich basket (fries + soda) and man it was so good. They had a cabinet of games like Connect Four or Scrabble to play while you wait for your food at the picnic tables. The cheese steak sandwich was deliciously cheesy and my heart seriously hurt after eating it but it was worth it. Definitely a fun place to go.

Seems like a lot of previous posters have some seriously high expectations of a drive-in. For me, it was wonderful....with three young kids the place is a little godsend. The food is solid...I am not expecting Restaurant Alma when I dine here. The "cake shakes" and the eclectic outdoor decor are what makes this place shine above Sonic.

Great food and so much fun to have the kids experience a traditional Americana drive in. The renovation the owners did is awesome and the bonfire s'more kits keep us coming back.

This place was really busy when we went, even though it ended up hailing and raining outside to epic proportions. The food was pretty standard, but this isn't really a place you'd go for the food. You go to a drive-in because it's the ultimate celebration in American convenience. A meal you didn't even have to get out of your car to get, but you don't have to eat while driving. How fabulous! The server we had was fantastic. He was very conversational and had been working there for five years, when it was Wagners. During downtime, he and his coworkers (I can't say any of them were more than about 20 years old) amused each other by playing rock-paper-scissors, loser has to clean the tables during Noah's flood. The ambiance of the place was great too, the decor and the menu items were aptly named for a retro-futuristic drive-in. Sort of like a 50's style diner on Futurama. And it's dog-friendly, with dog burgers, treats, etc. And as for the complainers down below: The menu prices have decreased and there are plenty of veggie-friendly menu items now.

recently took my 4 year old nephew and 6 year old niece to galaxy drive-in. I must admit...i have been tracking some of the negative-ish reviews of the place but thought I'd give it another whirl since my personal experience has been good and it was a beautiful day and I knew the kids would get a kick out of it....and they did. Both ordered the kids meal with grilled cheese and fries (one sprite one root beer) and then promptly left me sitting at our table, to go play with the various toys and ponds and life size chess sets that adorn the property. I had the burger, hold the pickles, keep the onions, add swiss please....i LOVED it. the patties are fresh, the buns buttered (uuuhhhh did i just say that?) and the food came out fast and hot. I can see how some yelpers have had issues with the service speed but people, come one! they're making everything fresh and you can't complain about that! rumor has it that galaxy drive in will be turning into a winter wonderland come first snowfall....i personally cant wait to see what they have in store!

Nice drive in. I really liked their cheeseburger and fries. It was a little bit pricey though.

Hey, if you need a fun place to sit and enjoy a summer or autumn meal this could be your place. Our food was good. The strawberry shake was WAY good. The service was not that great, however they were very busy. The life size chess set or the life size ticktacktoe board were really fun for my girls. The fire places where you can make your own smores is fun too. If you like dinning in your car that is an option as well. I hope that the Galaxy can continue to make improvements and keep going for a long long time.

If possible to give zero I would. Slow, expensive and lousy food. Trifecta of bad deserving a poor rating. Burger inedibly overlooked. Unremarkable fries and ring. Shakes textured like milk. They had all the excuses: new person making shakes, short staffed at the grill. Blah blah blah. Adding insult to injury- expensive! Almost $6 for a shake? Less than 1/3 the size of normal shake -- and did I say it was runny? Normally I'd maybe give it a second chance. Not this place. It's like they conjured some marketing theme (galaxy stuff) around the cool drive in experience. But the atmosphere isn't authentic and the food is slow and stinks. The place reeks of cheap gimmicks. Alone that's no big deal. When combined with lousy and pricey food - that's lethal.

Brutal service and food. Went at 7:00 pm a couple months ago. The service was terrible, the fries weren't cooked, the burger was all wrong, had to go to the kitchen to get my change. There wasn't anybody else there. Now i know why no one else was there. Go around the corner to Wendy's. Will never go back. Wagner's the previous Drive in on the site had good service, good fries, and good burgers. Galaxy is out of this world and should stay there.

Food was good and I liked the concept, but here are a few thoughts: 1.) it took far too long, it was Saturday night and they were probably overwhelmed but the server didn't say a thing, and when we asked where our food was after 20-25 minutes of waiting, she said she'd go find out, no apologies - they need to clue their staff in. The guy next to us waited about 10 minutes before anyone approached his car and was waiting for his food for 20 minutes too when we pulled out....sorry guy! 2.) the music - it should be the 50s not loud current music, otherwise, food good.
